Day 1 Post Chemo and a Wedding
It was my sisters wedding the day after chemo, so it was straight to business time. Getting a few things organised before hand, was fun and such a nice positive event to focus on.
I wasn't sure how I'd be, but I'm so happy to say, I had alot of energy and felt overjoyed to be apart of her day. The wedding was beautiful and intimate and as her big sister, I was so happy to be there for her!
I take steroids in the morning for the first 3 days, so
this likely contributed to feeling good.
Day 2
Amber and I spent the day together and I was able
to go for a nice walk this morning. I meal prepped a few vegetarian salads for the next few days. I am anticipating my energy will start to slow down, so I just wanted to make sure I have plenty of fresh salad and fruit options.
Amber and I watched Legally Blond (one of my favs) and I noticed my fingers and toes are starting to go numb. I was told this might happen, so next few days shall be interesting. My taste buds have also started to play up and iv noticed I don't have much of an appetite despite being on my feet a bit today.
Day 3
Woke up feeling a little average. Managed to go for a little walk and back home to the family to try my best to be positive. Down to one steroid tablet today, and can feel the difference in energy. One day at a time, Lou my nurse said I will have days I feel great and other days where i'll be tired.
Days 4-7
Main thing I noticed was each day, I felt a little better mentally and less foggy but a little more sore muscle aches and nuropathy. Im greatful my first week
has gone easy ish on me.
This past week has been a mixed bag of emotions. We have three children in the house and my husband is bearing most of the responsibilities.
Im so greatful to him and my family and friends that have gone above and beyond to make sure I'm comfortable as can be. All the things like getting kids to school and dinner on the table (thanks to friends dropping off dinners🙏🏻)
Here's to my first week of chemo done 🎊 5 rounds to go!
